With the increased need to analyze both transcriptional and translational profiles to get a comprehensive picture of gene functioning, more and more researchers are looking for ways to analyze RNA and protein expression simultaneously.

The traditional protocols involved growing the cells separately and running these analyses in parallel. Apart from the multitude of steps involved, this becomes challenging when the samples are limited in quantity. Here we describe a simple protocol for analyzing RNA and proteins from a single lysate.
